One of My Favorite Teachers and My Friend

In 8th grade at J.L.Long Middle School I had a teacher named Mr. Fernandez. Upon entering his class for the first time I never would have thought he would influence me the way he did. In previous math and pre-algebra classes I've had, I felt as if I only learned the curriculum because I had to, and it never felt as if I accomplished what I thought I should.

Mr. Fernandez would lead the class in a way in which we still got the information but was still fun and fulfilling. He would also go above and beyond by teaching us things he knew we would find helpful and interesting, such as chess. We also had fun competitions between classes that he organized which helped us strive to do as well as we could in class. I will definitely remember Mr. Fernandez as one of my favorite teachers and my friend.
